AAMC Foundation Engagement Program for International Curators

25. September, 2018

AAMC & AAMC Foundation is delighted to have just opened applications for AAMC Foundation’s Engagement Program for International Curators, which pairs a non-US based curator (International Awardee) and a US-based curator (US Liaison) for a 12-month partnership dedicated to professional development and exchange. Two pairings are awarded each year.

The Program provides a framework for two curator pairings to interact regularly, reflecting on and developing their self-identified areas of advancement with each other. The Program includes travel funding for International Awardees, a participant stipend for US Liaisons, networking, and more, which are outlined in greater detail in the Program Components area of the application.

All applicants must be art curators working on or having worked within exhibitions and projects that explore historic American Art (c. 1500-1980), including painting; sculpture; works on paper, including prints, drawing and photography; decorative arts; and excluding architecture; design; and performance.

Through fostering international relationships between curators, the Program aims to not only provide opportunities for professional development and exchange within the curatorial field, but also to expand and strengthen the international curatorial community. The Program is an active part of building international partnerships,  leading cross-border conversations, and spearheading international representation within AAMC’s membership & AAMC Foundation’s efforts.

The deadline for applications is Monday, November 5, 2018 at 12pm.
