Estonian and German sustainable design in Tallinn
From 4th to 13th of May pop-up shop “Design, Naturally!” is opened in Iida Gallery in Tallinn as a part of the festival „German Spring“. The shop showcases the best examples of German and Estonian sustainable fashion items and designs.
The event is organized by Goethe Institut Estonia with Creative Estonia and Estonian Design Center as partners.
The criteria for the pop up shop is the following: the materials and production processes are ecologically harmless, all matersials are used or re-used in a sustainable manner and production is ethical. All items are designed with care and innovative solutions, providing extra value to the customer.
The curator of German exhibition is a designer and one of the key figures of the Green Room in Berlin Fashion Week. Estonian designer Maarja Tali helped to put up Estonian showcase.
Among German designers there is feminine footwear from ALINASCHUERFELD, fashion by Alma&Lovis, Isabell de Hillerin and Anne Gorke, leather products by deepmello, mens footwear by EKN Footwear and comfortable jeans by Sey Jeans.
By Estonian designers there are carpets by Annike Laigo,exclusive jewelry by Birgit Skolimowski, leather products by Erkki Engso, fashion itemas by HULA and Reet Aus, wooden spectacle frames by Karl Annus, textiles and scarfs by kelpman textile and bow ties by Maarja Naan.
