Call for proposals: EBBA Awards vision

12. detsember, 2013

ECThe European Border Breakers’ Awards (EBBA Awards), a yearly music prize given out by the EU for rock, dance and pop music, is looking for a new organization. Hand in your plans for the initiatives for the next few years and be part of the EBBA’s for the period of 2014-2018!

The EBBA Awards is an initiative of the European Commission and is a concrete action to the “Creative Europe” programme. The aim of this programme is to promote and safeguard European diversity in language and culture, and to stimulate competitiveness between cultural and creative sectors to eventually enhance sustainable growth.

The EBBA Awards are given out to artists whom have had success in Europe and/or their home country, and the Awards should help them to get further success. Also, the winning artists are symbolic to the great amount of musical talent Europe houses and their success should be inspirational to starting artists.

Call for proposals
Do you believe you have valuable ideas for the future of the EBBA Awards, and do you want to participate in the project? Please hand in your proposal before January 31st, 2014. As the organization of the EBBA Awards, you have the following goals:

  • Develop a solid and credible mechanism for the selection of European artists/groups in the field of rock, pop and dance music who have managed to achieve success in Europe with their first international release beyond their home country;
  • Organise an annual high quality and visible awards ceremony as of the 2015 edition. This ceremony should succeed in highlighting artists’ cross border success, in promoting the artists’ music and in reaching a broad and diversified audience.
  • Create a momentum ensuring high visibility for the Prize, the winners and the values that the Prize promotes in between the award ceremonies, and engage different target groups for the Prize;
  • Develop networking and partnership activities with a view to ensuring the sustainable impact of the Prize.
